    Getting Teams on Your Phone

    The Teams mobile app keeps you connected when away from your desk.

    Installing Teams

    iPhone:

    • Open the App Store
    • Search for "Microsoft Teams"
    • Tap Get to download
    • Open and sign in with your work email

    Android:

    • Open the Google Play Store
    • Search for "Microsoft Teams"
    • Tap Install
    • Open and sign in with your work email

    Basic Features on Mobile

    Checking Messages

    • Open Teams
    • Tap Activity for notifications
    • Tap Chat for direct messages
    • Tap Teams for channel conversations

    Sending a Message

    • Tap the conversation or channel
    • Type your message at the bottom
    • Tap the send arrow

    Joining a Meeting

    • Open Teams
    • Tap Calendar
    • Find your meeting
    • Tap Join

    Mobile Meeting Controls

    When in a meeting:

    • Mute/Unmute - Tap the microphone icon
    • Camera On/Off - Tap the camera icon
    • Speaker/Earpiece - Tap the speaker icon
    • End Call - Tap the red button

    Other Features:

    • Chat - Message participants during meeting
    • Participants - See who's in the meeting
    • Share - Share your screen (limited on mobile)
    • More options (...) - Additional settings

    Tips for Mobile Teams

    Stay Signed In

    Keep Teams running in the background to receive notifications.

    Manage Notifications

    • Tap your profile picture
    • Tap Notifications
    • Adjust what notifications you receive
    Consider:
    • Turning off notifications outside work hours
    • Setting "Quiet hours" for evenings and weekends

    Use WiFi When Possible

    Video calls use a lot of data. Connect to WiFi for meetings when you can.

    Download Files for Offline Access

    • Find a file in Teams
    • Tap the three dots
    • Tap Make available offline

    Mobile vs Desktop

    Good for mobile:

    • Quick chat messages
    • Joining meetings on the go
    • Checking notifications
    • Voice calls
    Better on desktop:
    • Long document work
    • Screen sharing
    • Managing Teams settings
    • Complex file editing

    Troubleshooting

    Not receiving notifications?

    • Check phone notification settings for Teams
    • Make sure you're signed in
    • Check Teams notification settings
    Poor call quality?
    • Check your internet connection
    • Move to better WiFi/mobile signal
    • Turn off video to improve audio
