How to Join a Microsoft Teams Meeting

Joining a Teams Meeting
There are several ways to join a Microsoft Teams meeting. Choose the method that works best for you.
From a Calendar Invite
Outlook Calendar
- Open Outlook
- Find the meeting in your calendar
- Click on the meeting
- Click Join Microsoft Teams Meeting or the Join button
Teams Calendar
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Click Calendar on the left
- Find your meeting
- Click Join
From an Email Link
- Open the meeting invitation email
- Click Join Microsoft Teams Meeting
- Choose how to join:
From the Teams App
Desktop App
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Click Calendar on the left
- Find your meeting
- Click Join
Mobile App
- Open the Teams app
- Tap Calendar at the bottom
- Find your meeting
- Tap Join
Joining Without Teams Installed
You can join from a web browser:
- Click the meeting link
- Select Continue on this browser
- Allow camera and microphone access
- Enter your name
- Click Join now
Before You Join
Check your settings:
- Test your microphone and camera
- Choose your audio device
- Decide if you want video on or off
- Choose your background (blur or virtual)
- Computer audio - Use your computer's microphone and speakers
- Phone audio - Dial in using the phone number provided
- Don't use audio - Join without audio
During the Meeting
Common controls:
- Mute/Unmute - Toggle your microphone
- Camera - Turn video on/off
- Share - Share your screen
- Chat - Open the meeting chat
- Participants - See who is in the meeting
- Leave - Exit the meeting
Troubleshooting
No audio?
- Check your speaker and microphone settings
- Make sure Teams has permission to use your microphone
- Try leaving and rejoining
- Check that your camera is not blocked
- Ensure Teams has camera permission
- Check if another app is using the camera
