Managed UniFi — Brisbane, Gold Coast & SE Queensland
Netluma IT is a SE Queensland managed UniFi MSP, based on the Gold Coast. We design, install and manage your full Ubiquiti UniFi stack — UniFi gateways and routers, UniFi switches, UniFi WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 access points, UniFi Protect security cameras, UniFi Access door control and UniFi Talk business phone systems — for SMBs from 2 to 200+ users right across South East Queensland: Gold Coast, Brisbane, the Tweed and Northern NSW, the Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Toowoomba.
Most of our UniFi clients pay a single, predictable monthly fee that covers 24/7 monitoring, firmware updates on a tested release schedule, helpdesk for staff, fault response with real SLAs, quarterly capacity reviews and ongoing security tuning. Install and hardware is a one-off project on top.
For Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and regional sites we still install and manage UniFi — we ship pre-configured kit from our Gold Coast HQ, manage it remotely, and either fly in for the cut-over or partner with local cablers on the day.
One vendor. One UniFi console for network, WiFi, cameras, doors and phones. No yearly per-device licence fees. Fair, line-itemised Australian pricing.

The full UniFi stack — managed by one SE Queensland MSP
We do not just sell UniFi access points. We design, install and then keep running every layer of the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem so you have one vendor, one console, one monthly bill and one local SE Queensland number to call when something needs attention.
UniFi Gateways and Routers
Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine, UDM Pro and UXG gateways give you business-grade routing, deep packet inspection, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS) and built-in site-to-site VPN — without paying enterprise firewall licence fees every year. Perfect for the Australian SMB that wants enterprise capability without enterprise running cost.
UniFi Switches
UniFi PoE+ and PoE++ switches power your access points, Protect cameras, Access door readers and Talk phones from a single Cat6 cable. We deploy everything from compact 8-port desktop switches for small offices through to 24 and 48-port aggregation switches and 10-gigabit uplinks for larger SE Queensland sites.
UniFi WiFi Access Points (WiFi 6 and WiFi 7)
UniFi WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 access points come in in-ceiling, in-wall, outdoor and high-density variants. We site-survey your office, clinic, workshop or warehouse, work out where the access points should physically sit, and configure seamless roaming so devices hand off between APs without dropping video calls or VoIP.
UniFi Protect Cameras
UniFi Protect 4K and 5MP cameras record on-site to a UNVR or Dream Machine Pro with no monthly cloud subscription. AI person and vehicle detection, two-way audio on selected models, mobile app review on iOS and Android, and clear retention you control. We deploy UniFi Protect across retail counters, clinical entrances, workshop yards, warehouses, hotels and motels right across SE Queensland and Australia-wide.
UniFi Access Doors
UniFi Access door controllers give your staff card, fob, mobile-phone or PIN entry to clinical rooms, server rooms, NDIS dispensaries, dental sterilising rooms, accountants' file rooms and any back-of-house area. Revoke a credential in seconds, see exactly who entered when, and link entry events back to the matching UniFi Protect camera footage.
UniFi Talk Business Phones
UniFi Talk is a hosted Australian VoIP phone system that lives in the same UniFi console as your network, cameras and doors. Australian local, 1300 and 1800 numbers; desk phones, softphone apps and mobile apps; auto-attendant, business-hours routing, call recording and voicemail-to-email — all without a separate vendor or a separate bill.
Why UniFi instead of Cisco Meraki, FortiGate or Aruba?
Cisco Meraki, FortiGate and Aruba are excellent enterprise-grade products. They are also priced and licensed for enterprise. For the typical 2 to 200 user Australian SMB, UniFi delivers around 90% of the same capability for a fraction of the total cost of ownership.
No yearly per-device licence fees
With Cisco Meraki, the moment your per-device licence expires, the hardware stops passing traffic. With FortiGate, you pay annual FortiCare and FortiGuard subscriptions to keep IDS/IPS, antivirus and web filtering working. With UniFi, you pay once for the hardware and it keeps running with full features forever — firmware updates included.
One console for the whole stack
UniFi network, WiFi, Protect cameras, Access door control and Talk phones all live in the same UniFi Site Manager (unifi.ui.com). One place to manage, one mobile app to check on the business from your phone, one vendor to call when something needs attention. Meraki cameras live in Meraki Vision, Meraki phones do not really exist, Meraki access control needs a third-party vendor — you end up juggling four logins to do what UniFi does in one.
Cloud-managed without cloud lock-in
Free remote management through unifi.ui.com is included for every UniFi customer. Unlike pure-cloud platforms, your UniFi network keeps running locally even if you lose internet — the controller is on-site, the switches and APs do not need a cloud heartbeat to pass traffic, and your business does not go offline because someone else's data centre had a bad day.
Right-sized for SE Queensland and Australian SMBs
UniFi was designed for businesses that need real network capability but cannot justify Meraki or FortiGate budgets and ongoing licence renewals. For a 25-person accountancy in Brisbane, a 40-bed motel in Surfers Paradise, a 12-clinician physio practice in Robina, a 60-staff warehouse in Yatala or a multi-site trades business in Burleigh and Tweed Heads, UniFi is almost always the right answer.
Honest, fair Australian pricing — no vendor kickbacks
We quote UniFi hardware at fair Australian retail with labour broken out as a separate line. No "MSP-only" SKUs at inflated prices. No hidden vendor kickbacks. No contracts that lock you into us forever — if you ever decide to move providers, the UniFi hardware stays in your building and any UniFi-experienced technician can take over.
Managed UniFi — what we do for you every month
Installing UniFi is the easy bit. Keeping it healthy, secure and performing for years is where most businesses come unstuck. That is what our managed UniFi service is for — a fixed monthly fee, no surprises.
24/7 UniFi monitoring
Your UniFi controller, gateway, switches, access points, Protect cameras, Access doors and Talk phones are monitored around the clock. We see the alert before you do — and in most cases we have fixed the issue before anyone in your office notices.
Firmware updates on a tested release schedule
We never push raw Ubiquiti firmware to production. New UniFi releases are tested in our lab first, then rolled out to your site on a scheduled maintenance window so you do not lose WiFi mid-Monday-morning.
Helpdesk for your staff
Your team calls us directly — WiFi dead in a meeting room, a UniFi Protect camera dropped offline, a new staff member needs a UniFi Access fob, a guest network password change. Fixed monthly fee, no per-ticket charges, no per-call-out fees.
SLA-backed fault response
When something does break, you get an SLA-backed response — not a "we will get to it when we can". Critical UniFi outages get our same-day or next-business-day attention depending on your support tier.
Quarterly capacity and health reviews
We sit down with you every quarter, review what the UniFi stack has been doing (peak utilisation, AP health, camera retention, Access door events, Talk call volume) and flag anything that should be upgraded before it becomes a problem.
Security tuning and change management
VLAN reviews, firewall rule audits, guest WiFi password rotation, UniFi Access credential clean-up, and a documented change log so you always know what changed on your UniFi network, when, and why.
How we onboard and manage your UniFi stack
Whether you need a new UniFi install or you want us to take over an existing UniFi network that someone else built, the onboarding path is the same — straightforward, transparent, and built around your business.
- Free site survey. We visit your site (or do a virtual walkthrough for remote and regional sites), map the floor plan, count users, devices and APs, identify dead spots and document what you already have.
- Clear, line-itemised quote. You receive a written quote within 1-2 business days. Every UniFi gateway, switch, AP, camera, door reader and Talk phone is listed individually at fair Australian retail. Labour is broken out by task. No hidden margins, no surprise add-ons.
- Professional installation. Our technicians run Cat6 and Cat6A data cabling, mount APs, cameras and door readers, configure the UniFi controller, set up VLANs and guest WiFi, configure port profiles, and integrate UniFi Talk phones and UniFi Access door control where in scope.
- Handover and ongoing support. You receive full documentation, admin logins and a 30-day post-install warranty period. After that, optional managed UniFi support means we monitor your controller 24/7, push firmware updates on a tested release schedule and fix issues before you notice them.

Managed UniFi pricing — and what install costs in SE Queensland
Most of our UniFi clients pay a single monthly fee that covers monitoring, firmware updates, helpdesk and fault response. Install and hardware is a one-off project on top. Here is what real SE Queensland UniFi engagements typically look like.
Managed UniFi monthly support: from ~$15-$45 per managed UniFi device per month, ex GST. Most SMBs land at $300-$1,500/month all-in depending on how many APs, switches, Protect cameras, Access doors and Talk phones are on your site. Includes 24/7 monitoring, firmware updates, helpdesk for staff, fault response, quarterly capacity reviews and security tuning. Fixed, predictable, no per-ticket fees.
One-off install and hardware is quoted separately so you can see exactly what is project cost versus ongoing support:
- Small office (2-15 users): from $4,500 to $12,000 ex GST. Typical scope: 1 UniFi gateway, 1 PoE switch, 2-3 WiFi 6 access points, optional 4-6 UniFi Protect cameras and 1-2 UniFi Access doors. Installed and configured.
- Mid-size site (15-50 users): from $12,000 to $35,000 ex GST. Typical scope: UDM Pro, multiple PoE switches, 5-10 access points designed from a site survey, 8-16 cameras, 2-6 Access doors and optional UniFi Talk phone system.
- Large or multi-floor (50-200+ users): from $35,000 ex GST. Typical scope: redundant gateways, aggregation switches, 15+ access points with heat-map design, large camera deployment, full UniFi Access door control across the building and multi-site UniFi Talk.
UniFi hardware is quoted at fair Australian retail. Labour is broken out so you can see exactly what the install costs. Cameras, Access doors and Talk phones are quoted separately so you only pay for what you need.

UniFi installer FAQs
Where are you based and where do you install UniFi on-site?
Netluma IT is based in South East Queensland — the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Tweed region are our home patch. We do on-site UniFi site surveys, cabling, installs and ongoing support right across SE QLD: Gold Coast (Coomera to Coolangatta), Brisbane, the Tweed and Northern NSW, the Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Toowoomba. For Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and regional Australia we still install UniFi — we ship pre-configured kit and either fly in for the cut-over or work with local cablers and electricians on the day.
Are you an experienced UniFi installer?
Yes. Netluma IT is a full-stack Ubiquiti UniFi specialist — networks, WiFi, Protect cameras, Access door control and Talk phone systems. SE Queensland is our core service area, and we also deploy UniFi for businesses Australia-wide via our shipped-and-commissioned model.
What does managed UniFi actually include each month?
Managed UniFi from Netluma IT is a fixed monthly fee that covers 24/7 monitoring of your UniFi controller, gateway, switches, access points, Protect cameras, Access doors and Talk phones; firmware updates on a tested release schedule; helpdesk for your staff (WiFi outages, camera issues, new fob requests, guest network changes); SLA-backed fault response when something breaks; quarterly capacity and health reviews; and ongoing security tuning (VLAN, firewall, Access credentials). No per-ticket fees, no surprise call-out charges — just one predictable monthly invoice.
How much does managed UniFi cost per month?
Most SE Queensland SMBs land between $300 and $1,500 per month ex GST for managed UniFi, depending on how many APs, switches, Protect cameras, Access doors and Talk phones are on the site. As a rough guide we charge $15-$45 per managed UniFi device per month. Hardware and the initial install are quoted separately as a one-off project — managed support kicks in once we go live.
Can you take over an existing UniFi network that someone else installed?
Yes — this is very common. We audit the existing UniFi controller, switches, APs, cameras and doors, document what is there, tighten up VLANs and firewall rules, take over the cloud console access (you stay the owner), and then start monitoring and managing the stack from day one. Most takeovers go live within 1-2 weeks of the initial audit.
Why pick a SE Queensland UniFi installer specifically?
Because most of our clients are here. We know the local cablers, electricians, ISPs (Aussie Broadband, Uniti, Vocus, Pivit, Macquarie Telecom) and councils we deal with every week. Same-day on-site support is realistic from Coomera to Brisbane North. And the team you spec the network with is the team that turns up to install it — no offshore call centre, no out-of-state subcontractor.
How much does a UniFi installation cost?
For a small office (2-15 users) a typical full UniFi network install with a gateway, switch and 2-3 WiFi 6 access points sits between $4,500 and $12,000 ex GST including hardware and labour. Mid-size sites (15-50 users) typically run $12,000 to $35,000 ex GST. Large multi-floor or multi-site deployments start from $35,000 ex GST. Cameras, Access doors and Talk phones are quoted on top.
Why UniFi instead of Cisco Meraki, FortiGate or Aruba?
For most Australian SMBs (2-200 users), UniFi delivers around 90% of the capability of Meraki, FortiGate or Aruba at a fraction of the total cost of ownership — because UniFi has no yearly per-device licence fees. With Meraki, the hardware stops working when the licence expires; with UniFi, your switches and APs keep running forever on a one-off purchase.
Can you supply just the UniFi hardware or do you have to install it?
We do both. Many Australian clients prefer we handle the full design, supply and install so everything is configured, documented and warrantied as one package. If you have an in-house tech who wants to install themselves, we are happy to supply UniFi hardware at fair Australian pricing and optionally do the UniFi controller configuration remotely.
How long does a UniFi install take?
A small office UniFi install (gateway, switch, 2-3 access points) is typically completed in 1-2 days on-site after the site survey and quote are signed off. Mid-size sites with cabling, cameras and UniFi Access control usually take 1-2 weeks. Large multi-floor or multi-site projects are scheduled in phases so your business keeps running during the transition.
Do you do the data cabling as well?
Yes. We run Cat6 and Cat6A data cabling, PoE runs for UniFi access points and Protect cameras, fibre between buildings or floors, and tidy patch panels in your comms cabinet. All cabling is properly labelled and documented so any future technician can pick up where we left off.
Can UniFi Protect replace our existing CCTV system?
In most cases, yes. UniFi Protect supports 4K and 5MP cameras, AI person and vehicle detection, two-way audio on selected models, and on-site recording with no monthly cloud subscription. If you have an existing analogue CCTV system or a vendor-locked DVR, we can plan a staged migration to UniFi Protect so you are not forced to replace everything at once.
Does UniFi Access integrate with our existing door hardware?
In many cases yes — UniFi Access readers and hub controllers can drive existing electric strike or mag-lock door hardware. We assess the existing wiring and locks during the site survey and let you know whether re-using existing hardware is possible or whether a new lock and reader will be needed.
How does UniFi Talk compare to 3CX or Microsoft Teams Phone?
UniFi Talk is the simplest option when you already have UniFi networking and want a single console for everything. 3CX is more feature-rich for businesses with high call volumes, complex call queues or CRM integration. Microsoft Teams Phone is the right fit if your team already lives in Microsoft Teams for chat and meetings. We help you pick the right one based on your call volume, integration needs and existing software stack.
Will my WiFi cover the whole site?
Yes — when designed properly. We do a site survey (either physical or based on your floor plan) and either heat-map the building or design the UniFi access point layout from manufacturer-published radiation patterns. We size APs and PoE switches so you have enough capacity for your user count, and we configure seamless roaming so devices hand off between APs without dropping calls or video.
Can you support our UniFi stack after install?
Yes. Our optional managed UniFi support means we monitor your UniFi controller 24/7, push firmware updates on a tested release schedule, respond to alerts before you notice them and answer staff helpdesk calls. Managed UniFi support is offered as a fixed monthly per-device or per-user fee and includes our SLA-backed response times.
Do we own the UniFi hardware or do we lease it?
You own the UniFi hardware outright from day one. There is no lease, no rental and no vendor lock-in. If you ever decide to move providers, the hardware stays in your building and any other UniFi-experienced technician can take over administration.
Can you migrate us from our existing network to UniFi?
Yes. We stage the migration so your business keeps running — typically deploying the new UniFi gateway and core switches over a weekend or after hours, then migrating users and devices VLAN by VLAN. Old hardware is removed, securely wiped if it stored configuration, and disposed of responsibly.
Do you service regional Australia and other states?
Yes. SE Queensland is where we do most of our on-site work, but for regional, interstate and distributed sites we pre-configure the UniFi hardware in our Gold Coast office, ship it to site, and remotely commission it after a local technician racks and plugs it in — we partner with local electricians and cabling crews where on-site hands are needed. For larger regional or interstate UniFi projects we will travel and do the install ourselves.
What happens if a piece of UniFi hardware fails?
Ubiquiti provides manufacturer warranty (typically 12-24 months) and we manage the warranty claim on your behalf. For managed UniFi support clients we maintain a small pool of cold spares so we can swap a failed access point, switch or camera the same business day rather than wait for a return-to-base RMA.
