Taking Work Calls on Your Phone

The Teams mobile app lets you make and receive work calls from anywhere.

Setting Up Teams for Calls

Install Teams App

• Download Microsoft Teams from App Store or Play Store
• Sign in with your work email
• Allow notifications

Configure Call Settings

• Open Teams app
• Tap your profile picture
• Tap Settings > Calling
• Configure options:

- Ringtone - Call forwarding - Voicemail greeting

Receiving Calls

When Someone Calls You on Teams

• Your phone rings (like a normal call)
• Slide to answer
• Choose audio or video

Call Forwarding

Forward calls when away:

• In Teams, go to Settings > Calling
• Set up call forwarding
• Choose where calls go when you don't answer

Making Calls

Call a Colleague

• Open Teams
• Go to Calls tab
• Search for colleague's name
• Tap to call

Join a Meeting

• Open Teams
• Go to Calendar
• Find the meeting
• Tap Join

Call Quality Tips

Use WiFi

• WiFi calls are usually clearer
• Mobile data works but uses your data plan
• Connect to WiFi when possible

Use Headphones

• Clearer audio
• Hands-free convenience
• Reduces background noise

Find a Quiet Spot

• Move away from noise
• Mute yourself when not speaking
• Let people know you're on mobile

Separating Work and Personal

Do Not Disturb

Set quiet hours:

• Teams Settings > Notifications
• Enable Quiet hours
• Set times when you won't get notifications

Set Boundaries

• Not every call needs immediate answer
• Voicemail is okay
• Communicate your availability

If Your Company Uses Teams Phone

Teams Phone lets you use your work phone number:

• Make calls showing your work number
• Receive calls to your work line
• Voicemail syncs with Teams

To Use Teams Phone

• IT sets up your work number
• Make calls through Teams app
• Your work number appears to caller

Troubleshooting

Calls not coming through?

• Check Teams has notification permission
• Check you're signed in
• Check internet connection

Audio problems?

• Check volume
• Try headphones
• Check microphone isn't blocked
