How to Set Up Work Email on Your Android Phone

Adding Work Email to Android
Set up your work email on your Android phone to stay connected on the go.
Before You Start
You will need:
- Your work email address
- Your email password
- Your organisation may require specific apps (ask IT if unsure)
Using the Outlook App (Recommended)
Microsoft Outlook works best for Microsoft 365 email.
Step 1: Download Outlook
- Open the Google Play Store
- Search for "Microsoft Outlook"
- Tap Install
Step 2: Open Outlook
- Open the Outlook app
- Tap Get Started or Add Account
Step 3: Add Your Account
- Enter your work email address
- Tap Continue
- Enter your password
- Complete two-factor authentication if prompted
Step 4: Configure
- Review any additional setup screens
- Allow notifications if desired
- Your email will start syncing
Using Gmail App
The Gmail app can handle Microsoft 365 and other email accounts.
Step 1: Open Gmail
- Open the Gmail app
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Add another account
Step 2: Choose Account Type
- Select Office 365 for Microsoft 365
- Or select Exchange if instructed
Step 3: Enter Details
- Enter your work email address
- Follow the sign-in prompts
- Complete any authentication steps
Using Samsung Email App
Samsung devices have a built-in email app.
Step 1: Open Email
- Open the Email app
- Or go to Settings > Accounts > Add account
Step 2: Choose Microsoft 365
- Tap Microsoft 365
- Enter your email and password
- Follow the setup prompts
Troubleshooting
Cannot sign in?
- Verify your email address is correct
- Check your password
- Your organisation may require a specific app
- Check your internet connection
- Pull down to refresh
- Check sync settings
- Reduce sync frequency in settings
- Disable notifications if not needed
Company-Managed Devices
If your phone is managed by your company:
- You may need to install a company portal app
- Additional security settings may be required
- Contact IT for specific instructions
Security Tips
Do:
- Use a screen lock (PIN, fingerprint, or face)
- Keep your phone updated
- Report lost devices immediately
- Install apps from unknown sources
- Ignore security prompts
- Share your unlock code
