Why Use Two Monitors?
A second monitor lets you:

- Reference materials without switching windows
- Increase productivity
Connecting Your Monitor
Step 1: Identify Your Cable
Look at the ports on your computer and monitor:
- HDMI - Common, looks like a trapezoid
- DisplayPort - Similar to HDMI with one angled corner
- USB-C - Small oval connector
- VGA - Older, has 15 pins
Step 2: Connect the Cable
- Plug one end into your computer
- Plug the other end into the monitor
- Turn on the monitor
Step 3: Windows Should Detect It
Windows usually detects the new monitor automatically. If not:
- Right-click on the desktop
- Click Display settings
- Click Detect

- Click Display settings
Arrange Your Displays
The numbered boxes represent your screens:
- Drag them to match your physical setup
- Put the main screen in the middle or where it matches reality
Choose Display Mode
Click the Multiple displays dropdown:
- Extend - Spread your desktop across both screens (most common)
- Duplicate - Show the same thing on both
- Second screen only - Use only the external monitor
Set Primary Display
- Click on the monitor you want as primary
- Check Make this my main display
- Your taskbar and icons will be on this screen
Adjust Resolution
If things look blurry:
- Select the monitor
- Scroll to Display resolution
- Choose the recommended resolution
Mac Instructions
- Connect the monitor
- Go to System Preferences > Displays
- Click Arrangement tab
- Drag displays to match your setup
- Drag the white menu bar to your primary display

- Choose the recommended resolution
- Adjust the Scale setting (100%, 125%, 150%)
