When Managed Business Mobile Broadband Is the Right Answer
There are five common situations where 4G/5G mobile broadband beats waiting for a fixed-line build — or replaces it altogether.
Remote, temporary or pop-up sites
New office while waiting for the NBN build to finish. Construction site office that moves every six months. Event space, pop-up retail, short-term tenancy. Vehicles and field connectivity

Add a Static IP and It Behaves Like a Fixed Connection
By default, mobile broadband gives you a different public IP every time the router comes online — pulled from the carrier's shared pool. That's fine for a tablet, but it's the reason consumer mobile broadband can't be used as a serious business connection.
The optional Static IP gives you the same public IP every time, on both Telstra and Optus SIMs. That single change is what makes the connection properly addressable — remote access into on-site equipment, and site-to-site VPN back to head office.
What the Static IP unlocks
Reach back into on-site routers, cameras, NVRs, gates and other equipment from anywhere — securely and reliably.
Head office can VPN into the remote 4G/5G site exactly the way it would a fixed connection. Staff at the remote site work as if they were in the main office.
Whitelisting, monitoring, and any service that expects the same IP every time keeps working — even when the router restarts or moves sites.
Telstra or Optus — Whichever Wins at Your Address
We carry both networks. In metro areas they're usually comparable and the choice comes down to plan economics. In regional, fringe or rural areas the difference can be significant — we follow the signal, not the brand.
Telstra business 4G/5G
Australia's most extensive mobile footprint, especially across regional and rural areas. Strong choice where coverage is the deciding factor and you need reliable performance well outside the metros. Static IP available.
Best for: Regional and rural sites, sites with marginal alternative coverage, businesses that have standardised on Telstra elsewhere.
Optus business 4G/5G
Strong metro and major-regional coverage with competitive plan economics, including good 5G performance in capital cities and growth corridors. Static IP available.
Best for: Metro and major-regional sites, businesses optimising on price or plan inclusions, environments where Optus has better signal at the specific address.
Dual-SIM for sites where reliability is critical
For sites where the mobile broadband connection itself is mission-critical, we can deploy a router with two SIM slots — one Telstra, one Optus — that switches automatically between carriers if the active one degrades. Carrier redundancy at the SIM level, on a single router.

Every Managed Business Mobile Broadband service ships with a Ubiquiti UniFi mobile router, pre-configured for your plan, your SIM and your Static IP (if you're taking one). Plug it in, it powers up and you're online — business-grade hardware that fits cleanly into the rest of the UniFi stack we deploy.
External antennas
For fringe-signal sites, an external antenna can be the difference between unusable and rock-solid. We supply directional and omnidirectional antennas and the mounting hardware. We don't run cabling or do roof mounts ourselves — that's handled by our network installation partner or a local electrician we coordinate with, so it's done properly and signed off by the right trade.
For vehicles and small offices
The Ubiquiti UniFi mobile router sits neatly in a small office and is well suited to vehicles, food trucks, mobile clinics and field offices that need internet wherever they park. We match the mount, antenna and power options to the environment.

We come back with a recommendation: which carrier, what data plan, whether to add the Static IP, and which managed router suits the environment. You sign off, we order the SIM, pre-configure the router and ship it.
