    When to Report an Email

    Report any email that seems:

    • Like a phishing attempt
    • Too good to be true
    • Threatening or urgent
    • Requesting passwords or sensitive data
    • From an unknown sender with attachments
    • Pretending to be from a company but looks wrong
When in doubt, report it. It's better to be safe.

    How to Report Suspicious Emails

    Step 1: Don't Interact

    • Do not click any links
    • Do not download attachments
    • Do not reply to the sender

    Step 2: Forward to IT

    Forward the suspicious email to:

    helpdesk@netlumait.com.au

Include a brief note like: "This email looks suspicious, please check."

    Step 3: Delete the Email

After forwarding, delete the email from your inbox.

    Reporting Phishing in Outlook

    Using the Report Button

Some Outlook setups have a Report button:

    • Select the suspicious email
    • Look for Report or Report Phishing in the toolbar
    • Click it to report and remove the email

    If No Report Button

Forward the email to IT as described above.

    What Happens After You Report?

    IT will:

    • Analyse the email
    • Block the sender if malicious
    • Warn other staff if needed
    • Thank you for reporting!

    Common Suspicious Emails

Fake invoices: "Your invoice is attached" from unknown senders

Account warnings: "Your account will be suspended!"

Prize notifications: "You've won! Click here to claim!"

Fake password resets: "Your password has been reset" (when you didn't request it)

CEO/manager impersonation: "I need you to buy gift cards urgently" (supposedly from your boss)

    You're Helping Everyone

Every report helps protect the whole company. Scammers often target multiple people, so your report might stop an attack before it affects others.
