    The Blue Screen of Death

A blue screen (BSOD) means Windows encountered a serious error and had to stop.

    What to Do Immediately

    1. Don't Panic

Blue screens look scary but are often one-time events.

    2. Note the Error Code

    If possible, write down:

    • The STOP code (like 0x0000007E)
    • Any file name mentioned (like ntfs.sys)
    • The QR code can be scanned for info

    3. Wait or Restart

    If it shows progress:

    • Wait for Windows to collect information
    • It may restart automatically
    If it's frozen:
    • Wait 2-3 minutes
    • Then hold power button for 10 seconds
    • Turn computer back on

    After the Blue Screen

    If It Restarts Normally

    • Save any open work
    • Write down what you were doing before the crash
    • Continue working but watch for repeat issues

    If It Blue Screens Again

    • Note the error code
    • Try restarting in Safe Mode
    • Contact IT
